Here, you get more than just a stay – you get an extraordinary experience with a hunting lodge, barbecue cabin, wellness area, shooting simulator, and the opportunity to join a safari tour among the local wildlife. This is a holiday where nature, activities, relaxation, and social gatherings come together in unique surroundings.
Details about Kragelund
With space for up to 24 guests, Kragelund is the perfect choice for large families, groups of friends, or several generations wanting to gather in scenic surroundings and create lasting memories together. In the main house, the impressive hunting lodge provides the perfect setting for cosy dinners and long evenings filled with good company and atmosphere. There is also a large and functional kitchen as well as comfortable shared living areas.
Kragelund is located just 7 km outside Aabybro and covers no less than 277 hectares of forest and countryside. The peace, views, and nature here are truly something special. From the terrace, you can enjoy views of fields and woodland, and on summer evenings, you may even spot up to 100 red deer in the fields below the house. Red deer, roe deer, and fallow deer are a natural part of everyday life here, making the area a paradise for nature lovers. Already on our first visit, one of the three peacocks greeted us in the driveway.
The property offers 4 double rooms with double beds and 3 family rooms with both a double bed and bunk beds. In addition, there is a sofa bed and a baby cot available. All rooms have direct terrace access, wireless internet, and wheelchair-friendly facilities. Modern comforts include a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, American-style fridge freezer, and a lounge with TV.
Outside, there are plenty of activities for both children and adults. You will find a playground, football pitch, large barbecue area, and a cosy barbecue cabin with a pizza oven where evenings can continue under the open sky. In addition, Fårup Sommerland, Jambo Feriepark, and several other popular attractions are located nearby.
The wellness area offers complete relaxation with a wilderness hot tub, cold-water bath, and sauna. Wellness is an optional add-on package that can be purchased on-site, and it is easy to spend hours completely unwinding in the scenic surroundings.
For adventurous guests, Kragelund also offers a modern shooting simulator where you can try clay pigeon shooting, wild boar hunting simulations, and safari experiences using laser shotguns and rifles. It is also possible to book a real safari tour within fenced areas to see mouflon sheep and wild boar, as well as open-range tours with the chance to spot fallow deer, roe deer, and red deer. All these activities can be booked on-site.
An electric vehicle charging station is available and can be used for an additional fee.
Up to 3 dogs are welcome at Kragelund Bed and Breakfast, although dogs are not allowed in the kitchen or hunting lodge.
Apart from the barbecue cabin, the house is non-smoking, and youth groups are not permitted.
Nearby holiday towns and beaches
When staying at Kragelund Bed and Breakfast, you are close to some of the most popular beaches and holiday destinations on Denmark’s northwest coast – including Blokhus, Rødhus, and Løkken.
Just a short drive away, you will find Blokhus Beach, known for its wide sandy beach, refreshing North Sea waters, and the unique opportunity to drive directly onto the beach by car. There is plenty of space for relaxation, swimming, sandcastles, and long walks along the shoreline. The town of Blokhus also offers cosy cafés, ice cream shops, boutiques, and charming holiday streets full of life during the summer months.
South of Blokhus lies Rødhus Beach, which is quieter and more nature-oriented. Here, you will experience untouched coastal landscapes with high dunes, marram grass, and a peaceful atmosphere where nature takes centre stage. Rødhus is ideal if you are looking for tranquillity and authentic west coast surroundings away from large crowds.
To the north, you will find Løkken Beach, one of Denmark’s most famous seaside resorts. Here, you can enjoy the classic beach town atmosphere with iconic white beach huts, lively streets, and plenty of activities for both children and adults. Løkken offers everything from surfing and beach life to restaurants, shops, and cosy summer experiences.
